Pretty sure the answer is no. When they changed the lockwork for the internal firing pin, lock and MIM I believe some of the dimensions of some of the parts changed and forged products wont work.

Phone S&W. You're correct, Performance Center revolvers are built with forged triggers and hammers. S&W stopped advertising it on their website a year or two ago, but I've never seen a PC revolver with MIM parts.

FWIW, MIM is not inferior and I've seen a number of bobbed examples, it's just not as pretty. I've also seen broken forged hammers, so don't assume they're more durable.

I went thru some of the old threads and found where a knowledgable fellow stated that the hammer and trigger were mim. The reason i would like the parts is to keep the original parts just in case.

Nope, the 627-PC UDR definitely had flash chromed forged triggers and hammers.

^This, but if you really want a new hammer that's already bobbed and forged look up Apex evolution IV hammer. It does take a lot more fitting than a mim hammer but it also looks nicer.

And having a lock doesn't mean it has a mim hammer.

Thanks for the info, i know that it having a lock does not mean it has mim parts i was refering to the point that mine was the newer version with a lock. Like i said in the other post i read on here that a gentlemen pointed out the mim hammer and trigger and mine has it. Mine has the hollow trigger and the hammer has casting marks as per the way he noted.

Nice revolver you have there, that is one I'd love to own. Too bad the asking prices for them far exceed my abilities.

My two current production 2 5/8" PC627 UDRs, the latest s/n CNV3XYZ, have flash-chromed forged hammer & trigger. The trigger is easy to see evidence of in a picture. If it has a piece of a split roll pin on it's backside as a 'trigger stop', it can't be a hollow back MIM trigger!

In defense of MIM parts... they are highly uniform from one piece to the next - and at least as strong - or stronger - than forged, which require fitting. Not much in the looks department.

PS I did hear that at one time they'd fit a fluted cylinder in the PC Shop to your PC627 UDR for you. I wonder if they still do and what it'd cost?

Thanks Firehouse! I stumbled across mine and didn't know what it was, that's how I found this forum! Mine was made in 1998 and is the tenth one produced; HMA0010.

I looked into it about a year back and it was around $280. I didn't like the idea of shipping mine anyway and the cost talked me right out if it.

I heard that S&W shipped some new ones with fluted cylinders, but my local pusher never got one. For $280, my pair will remain as they are - like this:

Besides, I already had a Lobo Leather holster made for the non-fluted cylinder!

I had a fluted cylinder installed a couple of years ago for $214 including shipping back. I like it a whole bunch better than the unfluted one. They returned it too. I would suggest that if you have the factory change on out that you get a yoke fitted for each cylinder. My old cylinder if too tight to interchange with the new one without messing up the new fluted cylinder. I would like to have a yoke fitted to each cylinder. On the other hand, I have no desire to return to the old cylinder.
