Default Another tribute to the 547

I have played with the notion of getting a Model 547 for years. I thought it would be unique and something quirky that my fellow shooters would be intrigued with. Well, I finally got one a while back, and learned that this is a keeper for reasons other than being an oddity. This thing shoots!
I shoot alot at 25 yards, and I thought this may be a 7-10 yard gun. You know, 3" barrel, round butt, and fixed sights. Not so! This thing schooled me at 25 yards and literally outshoots most of my other Smiths. It just seems to naturally point and shoot in my hands.
I know I am preaching to the choir with other 547 owner, but I just can't get over how well this gun performs. So far I have tried most types of factory ammo I own except the 147 SD rounds and my 127 +P+ rounds. I have a Glock and STI for that.
One more benefit, 9mm ammo is dirt cheap compared to almost everything else and I have a lot of it from the days you could get Win white box for $100+ per thousand.
Did I say this thing can shoot?

No question that these are nice shooters. I'm enjoying shooting my revolvers the most right now. I only have a few, but without a doubt my favorite two are the 547 and CA 1st gen. 44 spl.. Both are natural point and shoot revolvers, with nice DA triggers. Love'em both.

I find my 547s are more accurate than my other S&Ws and are fun to shoot. Wish S&W would make them again.
