Default J frame model 342pd 357 Magnum

I recently purchased the Model 342pd J frame for my personal carry. I love it and now shooting 38 caliber ammo. My question is: Why does S&W put the following on the barrel of this gun, "No less than 120 gr bullet". I am 81 years old and recoil sensitive. I would like to shoot some 95gr ammo and I am afraid to try it because I don't know what to expect. Any idea's. Should I or shouldn't I? Thanks.

I think you have a 340 pd? You can use any grain you want in .38 special. The warning is for .357.

The following is from S&W owner’s manual for Ti, Sc, and PD series revolvers:

CAUTION:
Do not use Magnum loadings with bullet weights of less than 120 grains - This will reduce the possibility of premature erosion in titanium alloy cylinders.
