Question Double stamped

How common is it to have the “Made in USA Marcas Registradas Smith & Wesson Springfield, Mass.” double stamped? I bought a Model 65-2 off of Gun Broker a while back that is and am just wondering.

Not too common as I have not seen one in 39 years. I'm sure it has happened from time to time, but not often.

I have a 2 1/2" M66-1 that is double stamped.
Looks kinda weird, but I'm sure it makes it worth at least ten grand.

I only paid $225 for it, and it's my favorite carry revolver. I have heard this is not all that uncommon, although I've personally never seen another example.

This thread is really old and probably dead now but does it increase the value or decrease it? and if so by how much? I have a 28-2 highway patrolman that is double stamped (have yet to see another like it)
Thanks!

It depends on whether you are the buyer or the seller.
The seller will say it's worth more because of the double stamp.
The buyer of course would not agree with that thought.

Myself I would rather have a good clean stamping.
