Model 696, no dash, 3 inch. Also, 629-1, 3 inch price checks please.
Hi All,
A fellow Californian is thinking of selling these. First up is a Model 696 (no dash) Three inch barrel. Original Combat stocks, good to excellent condition(based on photo only.)
Second up is a Model 629-1, 3 inch. Seller thinks it's a Lew Horton Model. Rubber stocks. Good to excellent condition based on photos.
Neither of them have original box. What's a ballpark value on these? Thanks, c good

We are living in The People's Republic of California. It took me 6 months to find someone to sell his 696 to me. Because it isn't on the DOJ approved list, no dealer can bring one into California or sell one. The number of 696 revolvers is fixed, and the only way you're going to get one is for a private individual to sell his 696 to you.
So ask yourself; how bad do you want a 696, and can you afford what this guy is asking?

He doesn't have an asking price for them yet. Thus my post.
We can also bring out of state "off list" S&W revolvers into California using the Single Action exemption so it pretty much evens the playing field with the rest of the country. No need to pay a premium anymore.
Thanks for any information on pricing for these revolvers in your areas. c good

I would guess $700-800 for the 696, and I am not too familiar with 3" 629 prices. Hope this is helpful.

I paid $800.00 for my 696 LNIB. I love it!

A few nice 696 no dash guns sold on Gunbroker in the last week for 8-900. There's one in the classifieds for 895 right now.
