Just picked up a 29-4 with a presentation box and tool kit

IIRC they came in a plastic clamshell case.

Talking

Great pickup and yes N frames can start you down a very slippery slope as they tend to cause you to buy more and more of them. Take from me as I know because I bought a Model 27-2 5 inch LNIB and now I have a lot of N frames.

I thought from the time frame of the-4s that a presentation case was not
typical, I had been pondering a 57/58 but had not come across exactly what I
was looking for at a decent price locally, when I found this 29-4. When I asked if the 29 had box and papers the dealer responded he had a wooden box with the tools for it if I wanted? No argument given so I have my first Nickel 29, well my first and only nickel S&W

My first S&W is an N frame model 57 in 41mag w/6 1/2" barrel in nickel. Soon after i went back and got the S&W model 58 in 41mag & nickel too. Both are new and were $699 each. I need to go back for the S&W M57 w/4" barrel soon. I just picked up a used, still unshot S&W M29-10 in the blue plastic case with accessores and the wooden presentation case for under $700. I'm hooked on N frame smiths now. After 40 years of gun ownership i have no clue why i waited so long to get the S&W revolvers and the N frames. I've only shot the S&W M58 in 41mag and she shoots awesome. The balance to weight/power ratio with the magnum caliber is spot on with the n frames.

I couldn't have said it better my Brother in Smith and Wesson. I carried one on duty as Deputy Sheriff for 2 years. It was a 629, 4" Magnaported barrel, target hammer, target trigger & action job. Much to my chagrin, I sold it. It was a 629-1. I sold it to a friend, whom I finally tracked down, to ask him if he would sell it back to me. He liked it so much that he keeps it by his bed side. He told me he felt terribly guilty for telling me he would have to think about it. When I found out he used it as his bed side gun I told to him I withdrew my request to sell it back to me; he obviously liked it better than I did. Also, I don't want a 629 that doesn't have the endurance package installed.

Now...25 years later I want another 629 and a Model 58.

...and another 629 and a Model 29 and heavy barrel Model 58...

Default Ah gots mah X-frame!

Ah gots mah X-frame; a 6.5" barreled 500 Magnum Hunter model. I lusted for that gun when I saw it on Gun Broker. I don't feel an urge to get the .460; I'd rather begin my N-frame collection.
