Very nice. My EDC is a model 36 with crimson trace LG-105 laser grips (to make up for old timer eye sight).

Please point me to the thread concerning the "barrel launching" 640. I am a 640 fan and I guess I missed that thread. I'd like to hear more about that, but....congrats on getting the gun you like.

The thread was "Talk about lightning striking twice".Yes it happened to me TWICE.This Model 36 was the replacement for the 640 they sent me after#1 launched its barrel, and cracked its frame.

Congrats on the purchase of the Classic Model 36 and the word Classic is just a marketing term used by S&W as they are not the same as the original except for period correct looking grips.

Thanks for the information Cruiser. Good luck on your new 36. All my 640's are ND in 38-special only....maybe I have the "good" ones. I never really liked the J-Mag frames anyway. Never have had that happen and hope it never does.

Funny thing was neither one ever saw a 38+P or a 357 ever.
