I walked into my favorite purveyor of fine firearms today, after a dismal trip to the local gun show, and there it was. The aura of light was blinding. :)

For years one of my "grail" guns has been the 3" Model 640. This one, while not unfired, is very close to it. Unfortunately, the factory box is long gone but it still has the original Morado wood presentation magna grips. The action is smooth as silk and the gun is in perfect condition.

I'll add some pics as soon as I get it cleaned up.

yes, we must have PICS ;) ...especially from the 'Photoman' ....a 3" 640 sounds nice, is that the 38 special version?

i always hoped they would come out with a K frame version. imagine that carry piece!

No, it's MY grail gun...seriously, I like that even better than the 3" 60-4. I have wanted a 1 7/8" no-dash 640 for a while, and never knew it came in a 3".

TIL NOW.

Great snag, Photoman.

Beautiful piece. I remember when they were in production and I kept telling myself that I was going to buy one next time, along with the 65 3-inch and the ..... I did buy a 3-inch 60 in 38 Spec. back then. the 3 inch guns are little more difficult to conceal in some places, but are such great shooters.
