Default I found the perfect holster for 686 3"

I figured I would save others the frustration I had in finding a holster.

I have a talo 686 that has a 3" barrel and unfluted 7 shot cylinder. I had a heck of a time finding a FITTED holster. I had a lot of recommendations on here for leather holsters but none of them looked fitted.

So if you are looking for a fitted holster for a 686 3" order the Bianchi accumold (Paddel Holster) 7500 model 18804 or (belt Holster)7000 model 17739.
The description is for a S&W model 66 but it fits the 686 just great!

Any suggestion where I can find the paddle holster?
Bianchi site only shows a belt model of the AccuMold.

You can call them with the model number I gave (Accumold 7500 model 18804)or Google Bianchi Holster 18804. Don't go by the picture most have a generic pic of a semi atuo.

Here is a 66 with a Lobo Leather holster. I have several holsters from Ray and am very happy with the quality. I choose the snap-loop pancake for ease of on and off but you can get it made in most any style of holster you like with a custom fit to your gun. I don't carry my 686 but if I did I would get a fine piece of leather from Ray for it.

Edit: My 686 will NOT fit in my 66 holster nor would I expect it to...not the same gun. I am sure the holster you have found is fine and does a good job but IMHO custom fit is worth the wait.

Here's another paddle holster, this one from Andrews Leather. I've been well-pleased with it.

I have two "perfect" holsters for a 3" 686 - an Alessi CQC pancake holster (with belt slots, not snaps), and a Sparks VM2, for which I had to wait nearly 7 months. Both are hand molded, but not to extremes, Retention is through fitting the top of the cylinder and the trigger guard. Galco overdoes the boning, close to what you'd expect from vacuum forming.

It's a lot easier to make an OWB hoster than one for IWB. Revolvers tend to get held too tightly due to belt tension. The VM2 gets that part just right, others (e.g., TT Gunleather) does not.

+1 for Lobo leather. I have 4 of Ray's holsters now...they are top notch quality for a VERY reasonable price.

I like the El Paso Saddlery Tom Three Persons model, as shown here with a 3" M-66. Also use a few different models from Milt Sparks and Kramer.

Yeah they are expensive, they require a WAIT...but my Smith revolvers would revolt if I ever stuck one of them in... NYLON.

The hell with locks and the hell with a holster made out of anything other than a dead cow or a dead horse. (add smiley face here)

I think Kramer makes the best paddle holsters. They hold the grip nearly as close as a pancake holster. The paddle is leather, which conforms to your side, grips the waistband well, but is easy to put on.
