Default 629-2 Mountain Revolver value

About a year ago, I traded into a low mileage 629-2 MR, not realizing what it actually is. I got the darn thing intending to have it cut for moon clips, and using it for bowling pins. Then I saw some of the prices they sell for on line, and put it in the safe. So, here we are, a year later, and I've only shot it a couple of times, and we really don't get along that well anyway, and I want to pursue my original plan, albeit with a different gun. I don't think I should be cutting this one up to make a gamer gun. I have a table reserved at the local gun show later this month, and the 629s going on it, along with a few other ideas that didn't work out. It's a clean old gun, shot sparingly, cleaned and maintained diligently, and I'm trying to put a realistic value on it. It was Magnaported by the original owner, so it's not really in original collectors condition. Any suggestions on what I should be asking for it? I've seen a couple of ported 629-2 MRs sell on Gunbroker for right around a grand. That sounded like a lot until I found new 629s at the local dealers for $900.00. When it goes on the table, I intend to sell it, although in my area, any clean S&W big bore will cause a traffic jam at a gun show.

Keep it. You'll regret selling it later.

Save up and buy a new 629 and trick it out for the game you want to shoot.

I'm pretty sure to never see another one that I'm willing to pay the price for.
