sw 686 revolvers grips
Hello, my name is freddy. Hope everyone is well. I own a couple of s&w . My first was a 1911. I was able to get custom ivory grips for my s&w 1911 with my childrens picture on it through gungrips.net. They were great. I really recommend them. I then purchased a seven shot s&w 686. I would also like to get custom grips with my childrens pictures on it. I have been searching the internet but only find wood grips for my 686. If anyone knows of a website, I would appreciate a heads up @ ( [email protected]). Thank you. Hope to hear from you.

Hi Freddy:
I've been checking out wood grips for my 686 lately too. Try Hogue, Altamont and Ahrends. Each of these companies make some beauties.

Grips on a 686
Theres a lot of outstanding grips for the 686 & even some which aren't. I have a big hand & a few years ago went looking for grips I could live with. At the present time i have a S&W N-Frame grip on the 686. A slight modification makes it fit perfect on the L-Frame. Has a good feel. Heres a pic.
All the best.
Carl

You may want to google Sid Ryan. It has been a couple years and I don't know if he is still in business but he did scrimshaw grips. I saw his website and they looked good. He may be able to help or send you to someone else.

Carl,
Those are beautiful grips! What brand are they? Also, can you describe the modification you made to make them fit the 686?

They are S&W Grips. Only minor sanding at the top of the back strap fits it to the L-Frame.
