Fixed rear sight replacement for J frame
I have a neat model 60 3" Pro that, uncharacteristically, I shoot rather well at 25' double action. It is a keeper. I would, however, like to replace the adjustable rear sight. D&L makes a $250 replacement which may well be worth the price but is a bit pricey for my purpose. I'm looking for a drop-in-place fixed rear. Is there any such animal?

I just spoke with Cylinder & Slide. It does not make a fixed sight conversion for a J frame; just K, L and N frames. So, any one with any suggestions please send them.

OK, after speaking with D&L a few minutes ago, they offer a direct replacement fixed sight for the rear sight which utilizes the holes that your adjustable sights already have. They sell that sight for $85.00 and it comes with the screws.

It's $250 for them to be installed on your gun:
D&L J Frame S&W Sights
"Cost:
D&L J frame sight machined into your revolver, and zeroed with your preferred and supplied ammo - $250 Three night inserts installed - add $250"
I'm not sure how drilling them for night sights adds another $250 though. That seems really high. Now maybe I'm not reading it right.

I'm missing something. The rear sight on my 60 Pro is held on with one screw. What D&L provides for $250 is a front and rear sight conversion; the rear looks like it has been drilled and tapped for an additional two machine screws.

No, I'm talking specifically about your 60 Pro, which when you remove that factory sight, D&L has a fixed drop in replacement for $85.00. That drop in is not shown on the web site, nor is it mentioned.
