so what's with the canted barrels?
I'm sure this has been addressed before, but a barrel that is noticably off center is not something I would expect from a top shelf outfit like S&W. I've been looking for a 625 but will not put out the premium bucks asked for with a barrel not true to the frame - I haven't found one yet. Does this effect accuracy? thanks.

Buy one, shoot it, and if it shoots off, return it to be repaired on S&W's dime. We have to remember that different loads will shoot to different points of aim, as different shooters will also shoot to different points of aim.
As enthusiasts, we are more apt to complain to other shooters about issues like this. Your average handgun owner does not visit gun forums on a regular basis, either.
This is not a new issue, nor just a S&W issue. I have a very early 28-2 that requires me to have the sight adjusted far right. I own a Bushmaster DCM model that requires the sights to be adjusted far left.

Some members have had problems I'm sure. I look guns over thoroughly whether they are new or used. I have 3 S&W model 21's. Two are Thunder Ranch model 21's. With 200 gr Winchester Silvertips they are incredibly accurate, and they have the internal lock. Never have had a problem with the lock. I have a S&W 500 with the lock and have no problems and have not had a problem with canted barrels. All my other S&W's are older models. I have had no problems with S&W but I have bought firearms from other manufacturers that I have. The internet is not always your friend, everyone with access to the internet is an expert, really. I would buy a 625 and if I had a problem I would send it back to S&W. Just my thoughts I'm not an internet expert.
