Hello,
I am new to the forum and this my third post.
I have two 629-5 The Extreme Hunter with 12" barrels with two (2) digit serial numbers. Number 27 & 28 found one ten years ago found the other about two years ago. I feel fortunate to own them both.
I am trying to figure out how to add photographs so you can see them. How do I go about that? Please let me know.
Thanks

Look at Post #3 and #5 on this link. I personally use the method outlined in #5.
How to post pictures
Pardon the topic drift y'all.

I have a 629-2 with a pretty low round count (well under 500 rounds - it had about 10 through it when I bought it). I use it for black bear defense especially on the farm. I carry it in a tanker holster made by El Passo Saddlery, which made a holster for John Wesley Hardin way back when. It carries great and draws smooth and quick despite having the 8 3/8" barrel. Here's a photo. This is one sweet revolver. I've worked over a gallon jug at 175 yards with it.

Oh my 629-1 ( sorry can't do pics) but its a 8 3/8 incher still stock I bought it used in 88 I think with a half box of 240 grain factory that the guy bought with the gun .That guns is accurate ,smooth and just as tight as the day it was built but I haven't hot rodded it as I haven't found anything I needed more velocity for and I have taken many deer and hogs with that gun a couple if turkeys ( yea you can hunt turkey with hand guns with open sights here ) and 1 very unlucky and unwise coyote just this year as he came too me my first time trying calling ,I am getting older now and need to use a walking stick out in the woods especially in the hills but I have found my 629 to be an excellent woods companion carried in a home built bandoleer style chest rig .It is well worn and used been thinking of getting her bead blasted but I don't know every little mark represents a hunting bump, slip ,and yea sometimes a fall but it has been a faithful companion and it will do its job if I do mine lets see 1988 98 2008 2018 dang 30 years I guess it is fitting to salut this gun today .Happy New Year guys and good shooting .Oh yea just wanted to add my longest actual hunting shot was well within 80 yards and if measured probabaly 75 on a deer the coyote was 50 yards ranged I try to get turkeys close like 30to35 yards close all that said either one of my sons with younger eyes and shooting from a rest can roll a large coffe can out to 100 yards and scare **** out of something a little larger out to 150 and beyond so the reputation of the 44 mag as being very accurate is well well deserved and if I were a young man today I would definitely get me one or three or four. You know it being the new year I just might get me a new 44 this year.I mean something that I can put some of this new technology to use on heck I may be able to handgun hunt right on another 30 years ,but if I go and it's leaning up against a tree out in tne boonies somewhere with that old 629 and a predator call in my hand you'll bet I'll go out smiling cause that coyote made me feel that new excitement and it's been a while fellas its been a while ,so if ya read this and you don't handgun hunt just try it I haven't bought a hunting rifle in 30 years shotgun yes a couple of pistols but no rifle .

Need to take better pictures of my model 629's and 29's, but I'll throw up what I've got on hand. Please excuse the poor photography.

It looks to me that you seek out the "out of the ordinary" too! VERY nice collection!

I have a 692-3 square butt that I love. I made it a half lug barrel and love it. A 5 inch barrel. The perfect 629 in my opinion.

I have an 8-3/8 629 Classic DX that I shoot in Big Bore Silhouette. I shoot it double action out to 200 meters and get most of the targets. It will shoot about 5 to 6 inch groups at 200.

Loving these pictures,
This thread had, at one time a photo of every variation of 629.
Sadly a lot of them are gone.
I'm sure we all appreciate the new additions, I know I do!
Thanks all

Thanks! Yes the "out of the ordinary" Smiths definitely appeals to me! I'm currently working out a purchase for a very scare Hen's Tooth Smith! It will be my first legitimately rare smith (Anything less than 100 Produced). I'll post pictures asap! I do have the following waiting in jail.... 646, 657 3" LH, 696 3", 624 3" and others.
