Default Model 14-4 barrel change

I've tried to search this subject but cant get any results. (not on any search I do, probably me) I would like to know if any cylinder and crane or barrel from a model 14 will fit a model 14-4 8 3/8. I may want to change to a shorter barrel and a good used cylinder assembly. The gun is just a shooter has some rust pitting on the side plate and it looks like someone sanded the cylinder too. Basically its just too long for me. thanks in advance. S2

Assuming that both barrels are (were) pinned the parts will fit.
In this case, means that they can be fitted, not a screw it together yourself job.
If it were my project, it would go to S&W for the work.
