Value of Airlite Ti 342?
Recently acquired a 342 Airlite Ti in very good condition without external lock. Just wondering what this puppy might be worth? It's very light and carries well with Uncle Mikes pocket holster but is a painful shooter. Tried it out yesterday for 1st time and today my right palm feels like someone stomped on it with work boots!

Made to carry a lot and shoot a little. Prices vary but those I've seen advertising them are in the $800 range + or - .
I have 340 PD prelocks in 38 & 357 and I know at this point I likely wouldn't part with them for that just from a practical standpoint. I probably couldn't replace them for less than that and there's nothing better that I've found for a convenient carry piece.

Carry a lot and shoot little.. My rosey palm can testify to that! Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably keep it around but will be on the lookout for some other model of snubby for range practice.

I have a 342Ti and a 940 in 9mm. The 940 is shot more often, but I still get the 342 out. I find that gloves help with the bite. I have some cheap 3/4 finger sailing gloves I picked up at West Marine. The leather palm is slightly padded for belaying ropes and holds up well when wet. I have also use golf gloves. They don't hold up well, but are more tactile and do very well when wet.. Here in the South, sweating at the range, be it indoor or out, is obligatory..
And to your 342 price,, 400-600 in this area..

Padded gloves! That's the ticket. Wish I had thought of that before blasting away a box yesterday. Might get some strange looks at the range.. "look at the panty-waste shooting with padded gloves" but who cares.
Your estimate of value is significantly more conservative than FrameFred but I assume prices can vary a lot depending on area.

I was looking at the pre-lock 342's about a year ago, and the pricing that I found on the internet was from $500 - $650. I ended up buying an old model 36 steel frame revolver 38 that is still a pleasure to shoot.

Sorry - I was talking about the prices on the 340 PD - haven't really researched the 342's but figured they weren't that much different.

Moman, the 342 is priceless! A 5-shot .38 at less weight than most derringers and small autos. Do not sell it, it is out-of-print. I use weight-lifting gloves for practice with such guns. Recoil is there, but not gruesome like the .357M Scandium jobs. Put it in your pocket for piece of mind, but don't forget it is there, being so light. VL

The 342 Ti is a fantastic concealed carry gun. One of the lightest J Frame Centennials.....second only to the black 342 PD.

I have a 337 Ti, with the factory rubber grips it was almost impossible to hang on to. Felt like I only had two fingers on the grip. Changed out the grips to Hogues and then to Crimson Trace. Much better.
Now I carry it everyday, as a bug.

Thanks for the good advice folks. I'll make sure to invest in a pair of gloves and also look into some Hogues. Have a nice Springfield XD9. Not really that CC friendly and a Bersa .380 which is CC friendly but from what I gather not the best choice in calibers for protection. Decided to hang on to the little 38 Ti.

Value of Airlite Ti 342?
I bought the first one I saw in about 2000 for $500 and I wouldn't sell it for less than $1000! Well ok, I would take $900. Great little gun. I have several different grips for it, carry the original rosewood, shoot it with Hogues. Shoot it a couple times a year.

Bet it looks real slick with Rosewood grips Highlander. Where would you recommend getting a set of those and how much would they set me back?

I was watching a new in box condition, no lock on gunbroker.com
With a few hours left it was at $525 plus shipping.
I think most owners may not want to sell theirs for $1000 but $5-600 seems to be the price that you can buy a nice one for.
Hope that helps.
