Default regulated J Frame

I thought I'd read some years back that the snub nose J frame .38 was regulated to hit POA at 15 yards with "factory" 158 grain round nose lead ammo. Is that true ? I told a buddy that was correct but I may be full of sh...t

I think it may be right for the older guns but I don't find it to be true for my newer Airweights.

The older J's I have owned were regulated at 25 yards with 158 grain slugs. Having said that,I found some needed a little more front sight, or some shot best with slower Wadcutter.

What I'm trying to say is (Every Gun is Different) and finding what she likes to shoot will be time well spent. Then if you plan to carry it you can narrow your choices down from there.

If true, that would be assuming the individual using such a gun would know how to get the best out of it.
