Default Need gunsmith for matte stainless + port job

I would really like to send my 686+ 6" off to get a matte stainless finish, port job, and maybe shave off the front sight and make it replaceable. I've seen all these done on guns on this forum, who can do all three that you guys trust?

I don't think the factory does porting. Contact Mag-Na-Port. They should be able to do all that.

Not to sound picky but I'd rather support a gunsmith than S&W, Inc with this need.

Of course the do the porting, looks like the do something called "Velvet Hone" finish. Anyone have a picture of a gun with that done?

Well looks like Mag-Na-Port is the choice for a new finish and porting. Just ran across a thread re: 686+ moon clip conversion and dang I have to have that too! Looks like Pinnacle Guns are the fav go-to for that and the price is right. Makes sense to do that first, then put a new finish on. Tax return can't get here soon enough...
