A Custom Engraved Model 13
Here are some pics of a revolver that's been a project for some time....started out as a plain Jane model 13 3" heavy barrel. It was sent to D&L Sports for sights and then to my engraver Bob Shade. The grips were made by Craig Spegel with English Walnut that I supplied. This is part of a bigger set not yet completed.

That is a beauty! I really like the engraving, not plain Jane any more.

Very "classy" job. Does your Model 13 hold special significance to you? None the less, super neat work. All my best, Joe.

I'm also intrigued by that rear sight, and would like a better look at it. I've got an M-64 I want to have "chopped and channeled", basically making a 4-inch 38 Special into the same configuration as yours, sans the engraving, just an awesome carry gun.
BTW, your M-13 is now prominently displayed on the D&L website!

Welcome to the Forum, ... and nice opening act! As a previous poster said - that's a "thoughtful" approach to customizing a S&W revolver. Good choice of caliber, engraving and woodwork. What style does Craig call those grips? Enjoy your Model 13,
Jerry

Thank you for all of the compliments. The grips are what Craig calls the extended boot grips. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out.
Here are some more pictures of the rear sight for those that have asked. The sights are a big upgrade from the standard sight configuration.

I Love project guns and yours turned out great. Welcome to the forum. Could I ask what the engraving cost, it looks great. Who re-blued the gun. Beautiful grips. If you want, you can PM me the price,. Larry

Well, I'm guessing you didn't put those sights on it just for looks. How does it shoot?
Man, S&W missed the boat on this one. This is one gun THEY should have cataloged!

I know that the thread is a bit old, but I love this custom 3"er. Great sight mods and very tasteful engraving. If it is "part of a bigger set..." have you gotten any of the rest of the set completed? If so, we'd love to see some photos.
Thanks for sharing!
