I have the opportunity to pick up this 41 Mag at a verrry nice price from someone I trust completely. Being that S&W discontinued this model almost as fast as they introduced it, there's not a lot of info to be found on the net. I'd appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, from anyone that owns one or even those that don't if there's a reason they steered clear.
New to the forum, but not to S&W's. I see this one pulling nightstand duty and maybe the occasional carry. Thanks in advance, looking forward to your insights.

I have a 310 Night Guard which is the N Frame 10mm version. Mine is probably power wise the next step under your 357.

Your ammunition choice will be the key factor in how well you like it. With a mid range load like the old Police Load or a good mid range reload you will love it. Drop in some Full Throttle Hunting Loads, and it will be a hand full. Way past enjoyable for most of us.

I carry mine in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake.
I put a set of S&W replacement Boot Grips on mine for looks. Go direct to Altamont if you go that route, and for an extra $10 you can get S&W Medallions on the Altamont Boot Grips. The Super Rosewood looks pretty good. Wood will only work out for light loads.

GOOD POINTS:
Light Weight
Great Sights, Cylinder & Slide Extreme Duty Rear and XS 24/7 Front.
When you Concealed Carry it, it will feel like a revolver a size smaller. This is probably due to the light weight of the revolver which keeps it from moving around on the belt as much as a heavyer revolver.
Power wise you can select ammunition from Mild to Wild.
Good Barrel Length for Concealed Carry.

BAD POINTS:
New price is a little too expensive, probably what killed the line of Night Guards.

If the price is right which to me would be $700 or less, it would not be a bad revolver to own.

If you reload, you will like it even better. If you don't reload I would check Buffalo Bores web site for a good Mid Range Defensive load. If he does not list one, you might e-mail him and ask about a load friendly for an airweight 41 magnum snub.

I have the both the 329 NG and 325 NG. My experiences have been very positive with each. Price and recoil are subjective to each shooter but I think they are great platforms for the intended purpose.

If offered a .41 Mag I'd have no hesitation to buy another NG; even if it would only be sitting in a safe. Like you said they didn't make very many.

First, let me welcome you to the Forum/

I think Scandium is the GREATEST thing to happen to carry guns since the introduction of Stainless Steel.

It allows for enormusly powerful firearms in riduculsly light packages.

The Night Guard series is a terrifc offfering. Personally I own three of them. The 310NG, 327NG and 357NG.

I believe in the right tool for the right job. Night Guards are great carry guns. If you are looking for a nightstand gun find something made of stainless or carbon steel. It will be much less of a shock to the system if things go bump in the night.

Now if you are buying this because the deal is good, then just go for it. I never try and make an excuse to buy another S&W, I just do it.
