Default Model 17 question

I shot mine the other day and after it got a bit dirty, I had to give the rounds a good push to make sure they were seated.....I know that is not uncommon for a 22 revolver since the ammo is kind of dirty, but after cleaning it, I tested the chambers...the rounds fell in effortlessly with 4 of them but with 2 I still had to push the rounds in (only slightly though)...all 6 chambers were cleaned real well....is that normal?

Mine is the same way, so I would say common, maybe not normal.

One of my 17's is that way. I have found that my 3 tight, clean chambers shoot not as good as the other three loose, clean chambers.

I have a 617 that 5 of the tight, clean chambers shoot real good and the loose chamber is so-so. So.............go figure. I do not have and answer for accuracy but is it normal? yes to some degree. I don't worry about it.

Sip, my 17 no dash sometimes does the same thing on one or two chambers after 50-100 rounds. I take a cleaning rod and .24 cal. bore brush to the range with me and a few passes now and then minimizes the problem. Probably just a tight chamber or two caused by machining tolerances. Since the gun is scary accurate I don't let it bother me.

Thanks guys, I figured it probably was no big deal but I had to ask being OCD with my guns.

Sip...I've got several S&W K-22's......17's, 18's, pre 17's, pre 18's etc..they "all" will do what you have described after a shooting several cylinders full through them. Just how they are IMO.
