S&W 627-5
I have both the “.357 MAG - 8 TIMES" and the snubby. The "8-times" is a fabulous gun. VERY easy to shoot accurately, handles well, the lighter frame makes it a great trail gun. It's almost never here because our children steal it regularly. Never shoulda told 'em the combo to the safe.
The snubby is like any N-frame. If you have the body shape to carry it, you'll have no trouble. Could also use some type of belly bag. I was initially concerned about how it would feel shooting magnum rounds, but because it is a chunk and I can readily get my hand around the supplied grips, it isn't as bad as I thought. In any case, I carry .38 Special +P, which makes shooting it even easier.
If I wasn't so attached to other guns, the "8-Times" would be in my holster more when backpacking or day hiking in the mountains. I just have to be content to visit with it occasionally when our sons meet me at the range.

Pro: excellent quality, dependable, accurate, fires a great defensive caliber, easy to carry, great for contact shots, not fussy about ammo, great customer service at S&W.
Con: price
If you can find one, and can afford it....get it!

I have the brother to this one, the 629 2.625" and carry it in a custom holster made by RGrizzle. It conceals very easily and you can actually get used to the weight. I am desperately seeking the 627 counterpart and as soon as my FFL can find one, I'll own it.

I considered one of those when I was looking for a revolver to conceal. The weight, combined with the size of the cylinder, convinced me to choose something lighter and smaller. It's definitely a lot of gun.
On the other hand, a 2.5" 627 no lock is the highest handgun on my "buy on sight" list right now. I'm not going to carry it, but I really like the aesthetics / design.

I bought my first one over three years ago. It was such a hit, I had to get another one. Funds were gathered by 10/10 - and a second one was bought. I had wanted a 327NG - unti I found out it was not moonclip ready, like the PC627 UDR is. Unaltered spring-wise, the newer one became my house and carry piece - in the Lobo leather shown below (... and a heavier belt!) - sporting Remington R38S12 +P 158gr LHPSWC's in a Ranch Products moonclip (They are the makers of S&W's supplied 'clips.).
That first PC627 UDR has lighter springs, but my reloads use Fed SP primers, so no ftf's - even with my +P PD ammo (Same as moonclipped and mentioned earlier.). It's usual plinker load is a 125gr JHP over some Titegroup in a .357M case and either in a moonclip or loose loaded via a 5starfirearms.com's super milled Aluminum speedloader & loading plate (See C&L's pix!), making 900+ fps. Great SPC revolver - fantastic plinker. The big orange ramp really helps in low light - far better than the Tritium 'Night Sights' on my 60 & 632 Pro's and my Governor. My five year old 4" 627 Pro languishes in the safe these days. I paid less for my second one - $889 - locally, but it is $20 cheaper in the same lgs now (Hmmm, do I need a 3rd one???). It's the same $ as a 686SSR or just a few $ over a 4" 627 Pro - and not that much more than the last 686+ I saw locally, too. To me, it's a bargain.
