Default hand spring on a 686

Maybe I posted the last incorrectly. but after working on older Smiths, I took a 686 apart yesterday and the hand spring fell out. I'd like to know what holds it in place -- on my older Smiths, the spring is held in place with a pin. There are no pins in the 686 trigger for the spring and no holes for pins. I'd appreciate any help any of you can provide. Respond off list if you like: [email protected]

Thanks.

There is a hole in the trigger that one end of the handspring goes into. I can't tell you more as I just have to do it by experimentation until it slips in. Perhaps some with more experience can describe it better. Like you I mostly work on the pinned variety.

I had the same problem. Luckily I found this video on how to do it. I didn't use a shoelace, I just used an allen wrench.
