Default .44 long tube *shameless family photo thread*

I love the look and feel of a large frame .44 and am not particularly brand loyal (is that OK to even say out loud on this forum??), so long as its quality. I had a 7.5" Redhawk inbound but it disappeared in transit so the seller and I am are working a refund. Just received the 629-5 PC today. I thought I was going to have to wrestle it away from the guy at my LGS who was doing the transfer paperwork. He was hoping I wouldnt pick it up for another few hours.

Nice rack, I like the horse pistols myself, what brand of thumb piece and rear sight are on the -3 classic hunter?

I believe the rear sight to be factory although I an not positive. Its not WO and has serrations horizontally. Reminds me od a Heine or similar for an auto. I can post a picture of it if it will help. Thumb piece is another unknown. Factory original is on order to replace the aftermarket. Guy I bought it from said he swapped it to better clear speed loader

Pretty sure they left Springfield with a regular WO rear sight, my self and a forum brother had one on hold this winter at the lgs(neither one of us ended up with it) kinda wished I snagged it though... lol,

Enjoy it

here's a photo of the rear sight and aftermarket thumbpiece. Any ideas of the maker of either?

In this photo the rear sight looks factory, the thumb piece kinda looks like something from charter arms.

I have one of those snake guns from Colt's custom shop.... it gives my DX a run for it's money.

I have a few of Wesson's grandson's guns (Dan Wesson) and have an obligatory Ruger as well. One of these days I'm gonna get some family pics of my own. Had the short lived step-sibling gun (Taurus), but sent it up for adoption.

DW's are great long range sixguns, nice single action triggers and good sights, make them easy to hit with when shooting at longer ranges.
