Default holster for j-frame snubbie?

I want a leather OWB holster for my model 60 2" J-frame.
Trying to decide if I want a thumb break over the gun or open top....what do you think? It'll be for daily carry. Needs to ride as high as possible.
Thanks!

The Bianchi Shadow 8L will do everything you described. Many other manufacturers offer similar designs, also in open top. When I bought this one thirty years ago holsters were not so form fitted as they are today.

Personally for my level of daily activity, whether IWB or OWB, I prefer open top without thumb break or strap. I also prefer open bottom but muzzle covered holsters regardless of leather, kydex or nylon.

The Don Hume 721 OT is also a fine holster and is reasonably priced. I owned this one less than 24 hours before my son got it for his S&W 60 and 36.

Another Bianchi Shadow 8L for a 4" barrel S&W K frame. My son got this one too.

Although there is a plethora of good holsters out there (and I've tried a lot of them) here's 2 links of some of the many holsters I currently own and seem to work well for me.
Mernickle Custom Holsters - Performance Series
El Paso Saddlery - Strongside
Currently have the EPS #88 and 77 (thumb break) but the Sky Six seems to ride higher.
ETA: Also have had good luck with sour dough pancake.

The Don hume listed is a good holster IMO and I plan to try a Lobo in the near future.

Here is a Don Hune 721 that had the thumb snap cut off. I bought it used off the forum, doubt the seller realized it, as I wore it for three days before I noticed. It holds my S&W 64 tight and close, as you can see.

A small of the back holster also conceals well and rides high under most clothing. The drawbacks are difficulty drawing/reholstering/protecting your handgun from an assailant, and spinal injuries.

I'm going to suggest the Simply Rugged pancake style of holster. I have one & it's fantastic. I wanted mine with the inside out straps & it doubles as an OWB & IWB.

They ride high & tuck in nicely hiding the gun.
I like them so well I've asked for another for my birthday hope hope hope.

Give them a look. Simply Rugged Holsters ? Holsters, Gun Belts, Ammo Pouches and Accessories I think you'll be impressed.

I found this one on consignment at a local range. It's a vintage holster from Alamo Leather Goods in San Antonio, but I think they are still in business.
