Military Issued Revolvers?
Lately my fascination with revolvers has been pretty strong and I was think how great a big bore revolver would be in a fight. Got me thinking. Are there any modern day military units that are issued revolvers for sidearms? I couldn't think of any but I am not too plugged into the military scene. Just curious really. Let we know if you are in the know.

I believe there is a thread here regarding Naval Special Warfare having model 686s, primarily for training purposes using wax bullets. I doubt these are carried on operations.

Last time I was in the armory on Mcchord the clearing barrels had instructions for clearing m15's. When I asked the duty sgt, ge asked what a m15 was...lol. still neat though.

Here's a direction to look in, but I don't actually KNOW anything about this. Probably some folks on this forum do. Dick Marcinko pretty clearly indicates that stainless revolvers were used at one time by SEALs. Whether they are now is an entirely different thing. I believe that some comparable unit of the French or German also may use or have used decent .357 revolvers.
Good luck in your search!
