Default Smith & Wesson Engraved Model 640 Revolver

Came across one Smith & Wesson Engraved Model 640 Revolver
at my LGS the other day. They are asking $815.00 for it. I do not think it is such a bad deal for such a beautiful piece of art. I was thinking of purchasing it as an investment only. (Never to be fired just for look and no touch!) However since that gun is a machine engraved revolver, I am wondering about the worth of it in say 10 years from now, compared to engraving done on a S&W by a master hand engraver. ...? Do you think it will be a good investment or just a so and so one. Let me know your thoughts, okay. ...

My present understanding is, "just so so". The ones that increase in value are the hand cut engraving, by a "Named" engraver. Quality means value. Hand cut artistry is like an oil painting by a known master, there are only so many and can't be duplicated. If I wanted an engraved gun for carry, a machine engraved in a minimal tasteful pattern would be more affordable.

Thanks H Richard, Your input is much appreciated! I was thinking
somewhere along the lines like "Machine engraving = Painting by the numbers".

That is a very good question? I was told by my LGS and my gun smith to buy this S&W 29 engraved to not shoot it and just put it in my safe. So i bought it last year.
