Default Where can I get these grips?

I have been looking for a set of checkered rosewood grips for my 686. I thought I found a set I liked until I saw the grips that come standard on the 647 Varminter. They appear to be a variation on the standard checkered rosewood laminate grips generally available. Does anyone know if those specific grips are available for other S&W models? If so, where can I order them.

Thanks.

Not enough info. A lot depends on if your 686 is round or square butt. If it's a round butt, you might order them from the $&W Performance Center directly. If it's square, I'd wager the closest you'll get is Altamont. They're supplying S&W grips now, & list one similar to the grip shown on the 647 Varminter on the S&W website.

Smile Altamont Rosewood Grips

Good info above.

I just got 3 sets of these Altamont "Super Rosewood" finger-groove & checkered grips for my S&W; 2 of the round butt to square conversions (for my Models 617 and 686) and 1 set of square butt for my older Model 16.

Here's a couple of pix of the ones on my 686.

Side view:

And a close-up too:

I think these look really sharp!

The fit, finish and execution from Altamont are all first rate -- and I love the way they feel and handle. The pricing is very reasonable too, considering the top-quality grips that you will get.

So glad I got these grips. But...

...now I need to get another Smith so I can get more grips!

If you are still around...

Your comments - and especially your amazing pics - have inspired me to purchase near identical grips for my 686 4".
Thank you for that; I was torn among a number of options.

Target/Checkered/Square Butt - Altamont and the key feature SUPER ROSEWOOD w/ Medallions...but non groove.
