Default 24-3 and N Diamond Checkered Targets

The past few shows in the Houston area have been a little bit of a disappointment to me. The old S&W's seem to be getting harder to find every day.

But.....I did find a 3" Mod 24-3 with original numbered box and unopened tools (1984-not that old but always wanted one) and was able to work a trade.

I was really pleased with the deal but it got better. The same gentleman provided me with a nice set of N frame diamond checkered targets w/o the speed loader cutout. The stocks are numbered 120461 and I suppose they came on an early 1950's gun.....maybe a Target 45.

So...I'll keep going to the shows. Guess I'll have to be looking for something old to put the new stocks on!
Here are a few pics.

And the stocks.....

Very nice revolver. I've wanted one of those for a while. I'd even settle for the 624 version right now.

At this point I'm a little reluctant to let them go but I'm thinking about it. As soon as I get rid of them....I know I'll run across a gun that needs a set.

Not TOO much of a disappointment based on the haul you made !

Beautiful stocks ! They were worth the trip all by themselves !

Since you have the extra stocks...you need to buy a revolver to fit them! It is only proper.

Are those K or N frame stocks? Very nice and worth a pretty penny.

Bravo! Now go shoot that 24-3! I bought one eons ago when I saw the article in Guns & Ammo. Still have it and love it. It started my love affair with the 44 Special.
