S&W Discontinued the M-15....again
Classics Revolvers - Smith & Wesson
I don't see the m-15 on the S&W website anymore. Just as well since it wasn't a real M-15....it was a M-19 in .38 Special with a half underlug, rounded grip and a a lock.
They also used to have a .44 Special N frame gun on there too (with fixed sights) (can't remember the model number) and it's gone too.

IMO the true "classics" are the original offerings.

Who will miss it?
That thing was an abomination that bore almost no resemblance to any real model 15 I ever saw. Other than the caliber it was chambered in and the famous trademark. Good riddance. Regards 18DAI

The round butt frame was a nice touch but they were priced higher than what you'd pay for a pre-lock 15 in great condition. And laminate grips aren't as nice as real walnut either. They were gone a long time ago ... these were just imposters.

Not enough sold, if they had made it in .357 and called it a 19 they would have sold tons of them.....its the same reason the 10-14's are hardly made, no one is going to pay $650 for a Model 10 when you can still find used 10's from the 60's to the 90's for $300.
I do like the Classic 58, it filled a niche since no one else makes a full size fixed sight .41 and so few originals were made. But again, the original 58 hardly sold so why would the Classic be any different?
I do like the Classic 4" 27, its more of a 28-4 IMO since it has no real resemblance to the real 27's.
The prices are what kill the Classic line, not many people will buy a $700 .38 Special like the 15.
The 64-8's and 67's hold on because many state corrections depts still order them. I qualified with a 64-8 at the PA corrections academy.

I agree with the "abomination" monniker. That "Classic" M15 was no Combat Masterpiece. It was more like "New Coke" as compared to "Coke Classic". S&W needs to stop acting like a gun lock company and start making the revolvers we want.

Is it possible......just possible....that they temporarily took it off so they could lengthen the cylinder, heat treat it for .357 magnum, and restamp it M-19????

They have stated repeatedly, no more K frame .357s...it would be nice to have new, lighter L frames however, like the Mountain Guns.

I'd second that. I would even welcome the return of the 619/620.

Here is a discontinued 44 special that sold out at 569.00 shipped. I thought it to be a pretty good buy. An N frame with lifetime warranty for 569. This is the third one I owned but only have one left.
Model 21-4

They should have just called it a Model 19 in 38 Special. They are not going to do K frame .357 Magnums, so it was like throwing a bone to someone who wanted a shooter Model 19 (such is used primarily with 38 Special ammo anyway) so they would not have to worry about using a vintage 19, for which many parts (such as barrels) are no longer available.

airlite model 357 41. mag
how few of these pistols were made ? i would like to purchase another new or used but most people say they never existed.I can tell you they are not the most enjoyable to shoot but as far as a carry back up ,myself and my partner run big game hounds and both prefer the 41. mag over the 44 mag but i cannot find any ????

Man, that's harsh as Grandma's lye soap!
And though I never saw the "Classic M15", it sounds as if your comparison is valid.
Why can't they leave well enough the hell alone?
