Very nice! I bought a 4" 66-2 back in the 80's, and carried it as my duty weapon for several years. It was one fantastic revolver - accurate, dependable, and a joy to shoot. In a fit of temporary insanity, I sold it recently, for a fraction of its value. Understandably, the new owner refuses to sell it at any price. My bad judgment, his good fortune! Hang on to yours. Well-kept revolvers only go up in value.

i will not sell mine for anything. that thing was hard to find especially at the price i got it at.

Yes it is nickel. I got a good price on it. Really good. The last owner had packies on it and it was really dirty. I cleaned her up nice. She's in great condition.

i dont know how some people dont take care of their guns :/ theres guys in my department that rarely even clean theirs. They dont realize what can happen when they dont get proper care. makes me sad when i see a rare gun pitted and just black from being fired and not cleaned. I polished my 66-3 up a bit, but it was in great condition. probably only had 50 rounds through it, its whole life

I know what you mean there. It wasn't in terrible shape and just flat out abused. It just wasn't owned as a piece of history. Every one of my guns are taken the best care of. I have a few guns that are over a decade old and still look brand new. I'm meticulous about my guns.
I would love to find a 66 in that condition. Is it just really shiny or polished? I know that 66's are stainless.

its polished a little bit. that thing was literally looking like it just came outta the box when i bought it. i just did a run through cleaning out the barrel and all cylinders and then gave it a few wipe downs with some polish. its def not mirrored or nickel looking but its got a nice shine.

Beautiful gun. I have a 6" 66-2 that has a larger square butt than the one shown and would like to know if anyone knows what letter designation the frame is.

They made a "K" frame round butt such as these in the 66 and my 19. You have the "K" frame square but. Seems the round butt were reserved more for the snub nose revolvers. Larger revolvers for the most part had square butt.

Size does matter guys..........to really satisfy you need at least a 3"er..... for full magnum ejection.......

in the 80s I had a couple of 2 1/2" 19s;... currently, I have 2, 2 1/2"ers; a 19-4 and a 66-?..... but they are safe queens......
IMHO the 3" 66 is the best CC revolver I've got , with the 3" 65 a close second....... over the winter I got a Milt Sparks Summer Special for a 4" 19/66 and to my surprise it works for me (w/ Spegel Boot grips).... even though I'm 5'9" and 165lbs.....
While I'm lucky to have the 3" guns... if I didn't ....2 1/2 inch 19/66s are the next best,they may be old school but they are the meanest snubby out there!!!!!! L and N frames are just to big.....
Edit; While autos are the "thing" today.... and Glocks dominate TV..... if you pull out a revolver at the range ........... somehow the reaction is like..... Hey....." Dirty Harry" just showed up! There seems to be an intimidation value with a K,L,N frame .357 magnum revolver that is not there with a Glock.
