Very nice! Can you show a pic of the grips from the rear? I'm trying to find a comparison of the thickness between Altamonts and factory combats.

I just bought my first revolver as well. It's a 4" 586-3 that should be on the way tomorrow..

rtbaron, for a first revolver you picked one of the better ones. Remember that one Smith and Wesson is one to many and 10 is not enough

Rtbaron, that's a great first revolver. I was searching for one myself before deciding on a 586 Comp L. Aren't 3" guns great? They handle and balance well, and they have the full length ejector. I may keep looking for a 686 3"...

Very, very nice. The 3" barrel length is the most versaltile for a 38/357 that will be carried and shot. You will enjoy this revolver.

I purchased a new 686 plus this past weekend. After two range visits I need to reload more 38 ammo. Nice shooter!

BTW, anyone know where I might find those grips in the original image. I have the rubber grips.
Thanks
