Gonna put these on my 460 XVR and was hoping I could get some feedback from anyone who has them or has used them. Thanks

Well. I can tell you those same grips on a 500 will make your hand feel like you hit it with a Hammer. They look great for presentation. But if the 460 is even close to the 500. Stick with the rubber. They come Rubber for a reason. Just my Honest Opinion.

Default Don't be afraid of wood grips on powerful revolvers

I have these on my .500

Just shot it with the new Nills yesterday and I'm not sure what jj is talking about but either one can handle the .500 or they can't. And these grips are not just for presentation. I shot over 50 rounds of 400 grain .500 and the Nills wood grip was no more punishing than the factory rubbers. It was a much better feel than factory and accuracy was improved.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to put these on any revolver that can accept them. If your hand hurts put on a pair of shooting gloves.

Best grips I have ever had on any handgun I've ever shot.

I appreciate honest opinions....so it's. 50-50 right now. I will say I did some research and the general consensus is Silver's thoughts. ...

I have Ahrends Retro Combats and my 629 5" classic. It shoots much better, more accurately and feels more comfortable than the factory original rubber grips - ditto my 686+ and 617.

If wood grips really fit well, then they will feel equal or superior to rubber, at least in my experiences. I found the same thing with my Ed Brown Kobra Carry, though I changed wood for wood and the custom grips have a full snake skin pattern in lovely, dark Cocobolo with a Cobra carved into each grip.

Let me just say simply, "I prefer wooden grips to synthetic grips."

Take care,

R

I go along with qrachel. Fit is almost everything, and checkered wood can be as good as or better than rubber. There are also some good rubber grips around, for SOME people. The question is what fits YOUR hand.

That's a great point 520. I really am not very fine of these rubber grips. I do hope the Nills are aggressive but I'm just hoping they feel better in my hand. I know they are longer and that's good to me. Here's hoping for the best. Thanks for the opinions so far. I agree with qrachel too.
