Default My quest for a pair of no dash 617's is over

I've been wanting a pair of no dash 617's with both 4" and 6" barrels for a long time now. I couldn't be leave how hard it was to find a 4" 617 no dash. Now the quest is finally over and one more revolver to cross off my want to buy list. I will get some better photos up in the morning. Next on the list is a 686-4 Plus model with a 4" barrel

Thumbs up

Congrats! Those are nice guns and I prefer the early version to the later 10 round guns.

Those grips on the 6" are nice.

That's a good photo. I'm glad you finally got a 4" 617 so you can quit bugging me for mine

You did talk me out of the 6" though.

You'll have to check out the 4" and let me know your thoughts. I just listed those grips that came with your 6" for sale. I like the bigger target grips. I would still buy your 4"

Very nice paring of 6 shot full underlug K22's !

Now just need the blued 17-6 versions to go with them,
And dont forget the non underlug 17-5 HB versions, and the SS 617 Dayton guns to go with those,
Next you will need the Model 18's and 17's the 34's and 63's then the 38 special versions the 357's the 44's the 45's then maybe the .32's and 41's......oh the fun.

It's a HIVIZ sight that I had installed by a local gunsmith. I don't know who makes the rear sight. It looks like a part with fiber optic inserts that replaces the blade on a standard S&W rear sight but I can't find one anywhere. It came with my 627-5 when I bought it used. It also came with very nice LPA fiber optic rear sights that I keep on it.

I know not everyone appreciates fiber optic sights but they work very well for me. I have them on my 4" 617-1, 4" 63-5 (factory), Ruger SP101 (factory), and two of my Ruger MK pistols. Sometimes I use one on my 627-5 too but I usually use the brass bead on that one.
