Default 2 new (older) revolvers joined the team today!

I got both of these today! 629-1 with unfluted cylinder and the other one is a 686 (no dash) with a factory adjustable front sight! I know that these adjustable front sight guns were made for silhouette (PPC) shooting and I am told that they are kind of rare! Any info and values would be appreciated. Gonna need to find N-frame grips for the 629-1 !

the model 29 version of your 629 is called a hunter model. would think it would follow for the 629. handy for zeroing at different ranges.

The 629 is the top gun, with the unfluted cylinder! the 686 is the gun with the adjustable front sight.

I owned a 8 3/8 inch model 586 with the adjustable front sight and later sold it. They are rarer then models with the regular sights and popular with hunters that can zero the pistol for 3 distances. I never paid a premium or got a premium for the sight package when buying or selling the 586.

Got em both cleaned up real nice! The box label for the 629 says "SB" under the "stocks" printing! What does SB mean? What stocks originally came on this gun?

I thought you meant older? I do like the unfluted cylinder though!

Very nice addition. I don't have any pricing information but I expect the grin value is going to be really high!

What year was it made and can you show the box label. And is the frame square butt. S&W label may say SB under the stock label portion, even though frame is rounded.

If I had known about that generous offer yesterday morning, I wouldn't have dropped the Corn Cobb off at your house....I would have just brought over the 2 revolvers. Damn! LOL!

It looks to me like a Classic Hunter 629. I owned two of these (down to one now), both came with Hogue Monogrips. Congrats on the guns, beautiful pieces.
