629-1 Serial Number Prefix id

Resreaching 629-1, Serial Number Prefix is "ADJ", the meaning and age this would mean? the actual serial number reads "ADJ with a 500 range number after the prefix"

Belive the answer is ADJ denotes in the new serial system 1983
