I have the urge to purchase another handgun. Can only afford one but torn between the 624-10 and pm45. The revolver is harder to find but I really like it. I held and dry fired a pm45 today and it was very smooth and felt good. I thought my xds45 felt good until I tried the Kahr. I would never sell the xds but wouldn't mind having another. Which would be your choice assuming you could find a 625-10? This would possibly be a winter carry. Right now my main carry is a 340pd.

Only a 300 of the 625-10 snubbies were ever built so finding one will be tough and expensive. However there is an unlimited supply of Kahrs.

The question is how patient are you?

Two very different choices, so it depends on your priorities. You would probably carry the PM45 more due to its (smaller) size and weight but I think a 17 ounce .45 ACP would be quite a handful. The 625 would be easier to shoot but...interesting to use as a carry gun.

I suggest the S&W. I am a Kahr fan and carry a P380 everyday. I carried the PM40 for about two years as a personally owned-agency approved gun. The PM-40 was initally hard to get to run, but after two trips back to Kahr it is now flawless. Not so with the PM-45. I never could get it to run. I became so frustrated with it I traded it. A friend has one and it is back at Kahr for the second time. He plans to trade it as soon as it reappears. Both he and I feel that we could never feel comfortable or confident carrying one due to the problems. Another issue is that it is only a slight bit smaller than a 3 inch 1911 so there was nothing gained for me as I have several of those.

I have a Kahr PM45 and have never had a problem with it. Easy to conceal and fits in most of the Kahr PM9 holsters. I carry the PM9 more then the PM45...I would love to have that S&W revolver!!!!

Yea, I agree the revolver is really cool. I have had my eye on those for quite awhile now. Still waiting for a reasonably priced one. I have seen them for $1200 and up but that's a little steep for me. I am probably dreaming but $800 or $900 would be good for me. I could probably slip that out of savings without the wife finding out?

I purchased the kahr/auto ordnance army ww 2 copy 1911a1 and it's my very first new 1911 to function right out of the box flawlessly for 500rds now. She passed my ccw test for a pistol. We, the four of us hammered it on two seperate outings of 250rds non stop. My hats off to the people at auto ordnance because before this my two new colt 1911 failed the first mag full. My first fully functioning 1911 was a Chinese norinco. It renewed my faith in 1911's so I bought the new AO.

I have a couple of Kahr PM40's. Yeah, I know you asked about the PM45, but my several thousand rounds of experience are with a couple of PM40's. They run great now, but it took a while. My point is . . . if you are the kind of guy who doesn't mind working out some kinks, the Kahr PM series are really nice packages.

But, if you are likely to lose faith in a pistol that is might need some TLC at first and could even need a trip to the mother ship before it runs well, then get the revolver instead.

Yes, some Kahrs are perfect out of the box. But, based on the traffic at KahrTalk dot com, a lot are not.

It sounds as if a revolver shortage has begun, so I would counsel you in that direction. Though it is not an everyday caliber for a Revolver it's prolly a sweet gun!

The kahr/auto ordnance guns are ok so far. I been thinking about a new oath/Thompson custom 1911a1 45acp next. It comes with most of the options already installed. Let's not forget that auto ordnance and Thompson
we're big gun suppliers during WW 2. If I ever go plastic it's between, s&w, Kahr and CZ.

I do suggest getting the revolvers now. I think most manufacturers will fade some out soon. I think the hunting revolvers will survive.
