I have a S & W 38 revolver, 4" barrel, Model unknown. The serial number is 813953. Could someone tell me the model number and approximate date of manufacture? I could not find the model number anywhere on the gun.

Welcome to the forum. Read the sticky "How to Identify Your Gun" that is at the top of the forum page. It will give you a lot of info. Then post what you have found here and we can give you a better idea of what you have. If there is no letter prefix in front of the serial number I would guess it was made about 1941.
