Default Help me ID this Mod 36 I inherited

This gun was left to my father and subsequently given to me. I have no idea about the history of the gun. It seems to be in very nice shape. I took it to the range and put a few rounds through it and am currently carrying it on my side. This little 38 is deadly accurate for my shooting style. Any information on time of manufacture and value would be greatly appreciated.

The numbers :

"Mod 36" is exposed on the frame when cylinder is open

"43629" is on the upper part of the yoke
"B7" is imprinted below 43629 and is of a larger font

"ABW1011" is on the bottom of the grip and I am assuming this is the serial number.

Based off some google searches, I am assuming this is from the late 70's / Early 80's.

For some reason, I am hoping it is a 79' model as that is my birth year.

I also just noticed an "N" engraved on the loading side of the Cylinder.

Welcome to the forum. The serial no. is from 1983. I have no idea what the N is for. Your snubby looks great.

I believe the "N" indicates a factory nickel finish.

Your photo link doesn't work for me but I assume the gun is still nickel-- as LoadedRound pointed out, the "N" stamped on the aft end of the cyl indicates a factory nickel finish. No idea as to the price when new, but I would put the value at somewhere between 350 & 450, without the box and "etc". Kind of depends on where you are, whether a pinned barrel is important or not (yours is almost certainly not pinned) to the buyer & how bad he wants it, and above all condition.
