I'm getting a bit bored!!
Let me explain. I had surgery on Tuesday for a detached retina, that went well. I can't drive for several days so I am playing on the computer and with my guns. Took a few pics of some new Ahrends I received last week from S&W45Colt and they sure look good on my 25-5 "S&W45Colt". Happy Holidays all.

I'm glad to hear your surgery for retina re-attachment went well. Are you already seeing with the repaired eye?
I had to have surgery on my right retina in 1995(which was my shooting eye). I awoke on a Friday morning with the problem and had surgery Saturday AM. I have vision in the eye but not 100%. Apparently the time before surgery caused some irreversible damage.
I'm primarily a handgunner so I just switched to left eye use. I still use my right eye for long guns.
My surgeon believed the cause of the detachment was probably my extreme myopia.

Oh BOO-HOO! feel so sorry for you.
I severely broke my leg (a bicondylar Tibial Plateau Fracture - google it) on October 9th and have been unable to drive or even walk (without crutches) for 2 MONTHS now - and I have about another 6 WEEKS to go.
Seriously though, it really sucks to not be able to do the normal things we do every day. I'll never take being able to walk for granted again. Hope your eye heals up quickly and completely.
Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year!

The facility I go to for physical therapy for my peripheral neuropathy will be closed down for 2 weeks starting Monday. I'm going to be a homebody until they reopen.
After my doctor told me that I should be in an electric wheelchair and started the paperwork to get me one, I thought screw that and spent most of last Summer relearning how to walk using the muscles that still work at that facility.
I've got an idea for a holster for a 4" 66-3 and maybe I'll work on that for those 2 weeks. I won't have an indoor pool to walk laps in but leatherworking is good therapy for my gimpy hands.

I have the blond, maple grips on my 629 classic - I think they look unusually attractive. Very nice pics!!!

I appreciate all the encouragement. Other than not being able to drive and doing the drops in the eyes, which I miss my eye half of the time, it's not that bad. My eyesight is improving each day.

glad to hear that your surgery was successful. I had several surgical & laser procedures for RD in both eyes 2002 - 2006. the results were not great but its something you learn to live with. vision now is stable but reduced
you have to focus on the benefits you have in life and not feel sorry for yourself....

Glad you are doing well and recovering from the surgery. It will take a while to fully recover but at least you have vision. Take your time and recover fully before venturing forth.
Consider your vision a Christmas present. Just try and imagine life without it.
Have a great Holiday.......
