My 460V is enough fun for me.
240gr XTP Mag pushed by 48gr of H110.
Sorry about the "play" button in the middle of the pic. Pic is a screen shot of a vid and I don't know how to get rid of it.

If a .44 Magnum can't kill it, I don't want to meet it!
I also recently read a post on another forum from a guy who advocates using a .500 for concealed carry.....ummmmmm no

That would be ME!
I love to carry my 4" M500...carried IWB with a strong belt for support and hug it in close, loose shirt over...can't nobody tell it's there. And, there is a HUGE difference in stopping power between a cartridge that delivers 350-450 lb-ft of KE versus one that pushes 1,800-2,000 lb-ft with a "smallish" 350 grain slug. M500 for CC? Absolutely!

I have to agree with above post.
In the vid I never see a hole appear in the paper and it is alot closer when your shooting than it is when you reel it in with the magical holes in it.

It also looks like there was actually only one shot fired, then with editing that shot was repeated 4 more times. Pretty tacky to try to deceive us like this.
Fortunately, it didn't work. ;-)

Jerry's emphasis is not on shooting small groups, and he doesn't. I'm sure he CAN, but normally his emphasis is on speed, and he gets the accuracy he needs for that.

Right.. And at the speed he shoots, I would say he is VERY accurate.
I know I sure as heck couldn't shoot that fast and put all 6 (or 5) on target.

Do enough of this and you will severely pay down the road. I am in my mid 60's and 20 to 30 rounds of 45 ACP is all I can handle now without severe wrist pain that may last for a couple of days. .22s are now my friend. DO NOT abuse your wrist if you want a lifetime of shooting pleasure.

Michael, target was at 20 feet in my second video (not the original post), range is only 50 feet long and you are right in the video it was at 50 when I brought it back, I only moved it back to shoot at that distance but did not continue shooting. If you watch my video full screen you will see paper flying after each bullet hits the target. Thank you for questioning and paying attention to detail. I'll post photo of my target at 20 ft slow shooting, it looks like 1 bullet hole.

He is accurate, his goal is to place every shot on the target. What I mean by me going for accuracy is I shoot slow and try to get most out of what gun can deliver. Attached target I shot last week at 20 ft. 5 shots S&W 500 Magnum with 2 hands without any support.

Only other way I can prove it to you is to invite you to shoot with me. You are welcome to if you are in Florida. I'll let you shoot my 500 Magnum for free. I would not have purchased this gun if it was not this accurate. Original video was shot at 50 ft and 1 shot was at 20 ft. I'll try to find that target as well. Someone also asked me to post it.

It seems to be a one shot wonder. If you miss a charging Grizzly with the first shot he will have you for lunch by the time you get back on target.

My grizzly defense is this:
Don't go where they are.
It works for sharks, lions, tigers, all kinds of stuff that is above me on the food chain.

That is my EDC revolver of choice and the load I use for the mild recoil and quick follow up shots.
Of course my holster of choice is a Ransom rest....
It also helps with my arm wrestling training and carpel tunnel recovery regimen.
In all seriousness I had the pleasure of shooting a similar set up and found it no more disturbing than shooting 158 grain hard cast from my 340 Scandium. As the Corps stated to me many moons ago, " Pain is weakness leaving the body".
Happy Shooting

There are plenty of girls who shoot it. Check out Pilgrim's post just a few posts above this one. Lots of YouTube video with females of all sizes and ages, too. BTW, I am totally unimpressed.

Does that shoot elephants?
Really is the load 140 grains of 2400 under a 6 month old elephant? That revo would make the .458 Lott seem like a .38 special!
Please post a video of you firing that and the modified stance you're going to have to use!

Pfeifer-Zeliska revolver.
Before I purchased 500 magnum I did not realize actually how big 700 grain bullet was. In the photo: S&W 500 magnum 700 gr bullet, 45acp, 565 gr and 9mm. When one looks at the loaded bullet he can't really get an idea how gigantic the slug really is.

Yeah, 700gr is well more than 1oz. And a 12 ga slug is 1oz. Kinda puts your 700 grainers in perspective eh?

I have absolutely no desire to shoot or own any handgun that's more powerful than a .44 Magnum. If that's not powerful enough for the task at hand, I'm bringing a .30-'06 bolt-action rifle, minimum.

Well one thing that nobody can ever contest, is the 500 is one hell of a blast to shoot, literaly, for one thing if you really want to make a effort to be a good shot with the 500 you first practice with light loaded target ammo then gradualy step it up from there and besides the fact that it it probably the most useless weapon S&W has ever produced,( except maybe the SV 9mm, LOL) I see no practical or impractical use for anything with weight over 350 grain, other than to hurt yourself.........I have owned my 4 inch for 5 years with maybe 400rds all different weights of ammo through it

And here I've been working up a load with a 95-grain bullet and 2.0 grains of Unique.

"dangerous or destructive device"
b san:
Sooo, to avoid the DDoD stigma, why don't they take a 50mm shell and neck it down to the .500? Offer it with a hydraulic piston in the grip to help with recoil, and a free subscription to Obamacare for recovery . . ..

Looks like fun if you're a recoil and muzzle blast junkie
Shooting my 6.5" 29 with wood Targets or my 4" Redhawk with the Hogue Nylons and full bore .44 Mag is enough recoil for me......maybe when I get my big boy Man card I'll get a .454 Super Redhawk or Alaskan......other than that if I need more power I'll bring a 30-06
If I saw a guy with a .500 at the range I'd give him $20 to let me put a few through it just to say I fired one, but I don't think I'll be saving my pennies for a .500. Shooting Buffalo Bore or those "Bear Defense" .44 Mag loads feels like a flashbang going off in my face as it is, if a .44 won't kill it I hope I never see it.....
I would like a .460 4" so I can look like a bad azz but I would just shoot hot .45 Long Colt through it......I'm a girly man I know

As the OP stated, with 350s the gun is fun to shoot. When the 8" original version came out a friend's brother bought one... With 440 grain hard cast loads and a full case of H110 it was much more pleasant to shoot than my Freedom Arms .454. It also ran right through a propane tank and into the second one...I was sold...but not till S&W came out with a 4-5"....when they did I bought the first used one I came across...well under then wholesale and looked like it had two rounds fired from it...
Since then I have put a couple hunderd rounds of the 350s through it...they are all I need. The Berry's plated bullet is my #1 shooter with 18.0 grains of Unique. The Sierra, Hornady and Speer 350s all get 20 grains of Unique or a healthy dose of H110.
Also was lucky and picked up a stainless TC Encore with 20" barrel for $400.00.
Both are a hoot to shoot...
