642 Holster Question
I am in search of an OWB holster for my 642. Since Illinois has just started taking applications for CCW and I just received my Florida non-resident permit, I'm trying to get all of my gear in order. I have a good gun belt, and already have a Lobo IWB offset clip holster. The Lobo is very comfortable, but I'm not sure that IWB is for me. I think the holster would be more comfortable for me with a forward cant. I'm looking for a pancake or scabbard style OWB leather holster. I really don't want something that will take 6-8 weeks to get here either. Price is of little importance to me. Does anybody use a Bianchi, El Passo Saddlery, or Desantis that I could pick up from Midway or Cabelas? I would like to find something that is reasonably small and conceals easily...for an OWB. Any pictures would be great.
PS...I already have a pocket holster covered. My weekday dress will not allow pocket carry.

I suggest going back to Lobo for a OWB holster, then you will have a matched pair to cover eventualities!

my first ccw holster was desantis. i love the galco combat master for owb. i have many for different guns. nice forward cant, comfortable as can be, and nice, quiet leather. they also sell what they call the 2x2x2 ammo carrier. holds 6 rounds, flat , covered on the belt. they run around 80 bucks near me. not the only option, just my favorite...

Thanks for the offer Snubbyfan! I may have to take you up on one. Is there any forward cant? I was really looking for a mild to moderate cant so the entire package was a little shorter. Let me know

I has a slight forward cant, just enough to tuck the grip in.

First, congrats on beating back the political tyrants in Illinois !!!
I've had good service from a Simply Rugged pancake holster I bought for a model 60. It works for my 642s as well. It might break your "can't wait for it" criteria, but is a snug little holster which holds tight to the body.
Simply Rugged Pancake
Just an option... The sad thing is a leather holster will weigh almost as much as the aluminum framed snubbie that rides in it!

I second that motion! I have three of his, and have on order one for my recently acquired model 640. They are great holsters, and Ray is great to deal with.
The down side for you is a 6-8 week (possibly) wait.

I only carry with High Noon Holsters. Superb in design, materials, and craftsmanship with great customer service. Take a serious look at their site. I have many of their Slide Guard models for OWB carry with a forward cant. The High Noon Holsters are very sleek and comfortable. Just the right amount of leather where needed and no extra. They have a rush service option to get the holster quickly. Bill

I also use High Noon Holsters, and a couple others but have more HNH's than anything else. Jim.
