When cleaning my model 60, I remove the crane screw to remove the crane and cylinder. I don't replace per several YouTube videos. Is this a correct practice? I'm concerned about cleaning liquid (m-pro or Ballistol) getting inside.
What do all do with the crane screw when cleaning? Screwed in or removed?

I leave the screw out and put a dab of Remington oil on it right before I put it back in. I have only used Hoppes 9 and Remington oil for the last 32 years, so I am not too concerned about any getting inside of the lock work.
