Default 10-5 estimated value

I was in a local pawn shop today and ran across a nice looking s&w 10-5 38 special. I know nothing of the model or it's value was trying to guage if it's a decent deal or not. Gun has been used but lockup is good and timing was fine. Firing pin on the hammer, it's blued. Grips are kinda beat up, and it has a case hardened trigger, anyone have any knowledge they are willing to bestow upon me?? I tried the search function but got zero results

Model 10 revolvers were one of the most mass produced firearms of the century and are still in production today. You can find them at fairly affordable prices compared to other model revolvers of that era.

What was the barrel length? 2-3 inch barrels will bring a premium. I paid $280 for a 6 inch in good condition. I see them go between $250-350. The snubs can go for about +$50-60 extra.

Values depend on the condition and this is hard to estimate without detailed photos. That being said, a shooter grade Model 10-5 would be valued somewhere between $250 and $350 in many areas. If it has a 2 inch or 3 inch barrel, the price would tend to be somewhat higher. Your local prices may differ significantly depending on supply and demand.

Hope this helps.

The round butt, tapered barrel gun is a S&W 10-5 that I purchased used twenty years ago for $120.00 from Fred's Gun Shop in Lilburn, GA. No box, but the original stocks number to the gun. I shoot it better with the target stocks on it. I am a harsh judge of firearms, and say this is about 85% condition. I turned down a $400.00 offer for it last month, without the target stocks on it. The gun is not for sale.

Here in metro Atlanta the gun you described would be $400.00, or if it was on the ODT forum $450.00 with a trade value of $550.00.

Some people will pay a premium for the 5"-6" barrel guns. I find them awkward to carry in the woods.

I will P.M. you the link. I like the forum, but the absurd trade values some people put on their items confuse me. You will see for yourself.
