Default Model 29 8" smooth cylinder

I was lucky enough to pick up a Model 29 today for $300.00. It is in very good condition but I would like to know the approximate year of mfg. The serial number is BEZ74XX. It is full underlug the whole length to end of bore. It is a pre lock model. Any help would be appreciated.

I whole heartedly agree it's a steal regardless of model. There are several 29's with unfluted cylinders but any of them would sell for a lot more than $300, unless there is something seriously wrong with the gun.

I bought it from a guy I work with that got it in 1990 he said he gave $300 and just wanted his money back because he hasn't shot it for years. It has very little wear and no play at all in the cylinder.

That guy must be a great friend. You did get a great deal on your gun, you should buy that guy's lunch for the next 20 Years! Ray
