Took the new uncompensated 3.5” to range for a heads up comparison with the Lew Horton model.
Three main differences are apparent
• The new gun lacks a compensator
• The cylinder is unfluted
• The front is 3/16 instead of the 5/16 on the Lew Horton
For comparison I started with factory 200 FTX Hornady ammunition.
Recoil was identical to me. There is noticeably less noise reflected back to the shooter though muzzle flash was still very pronounced.
Accuracy was better than I can shoot. A buddy and myself shoot the center out of the target using the two guns with 100 rounds.
Shoot 240 and 300 XTP MAGS in addition to the 200 FTX and did not see any difference in performance between the two guns.
Velocity was the same out of both guns; right around 1900 fps (see earlier post comparing all the other models). Chronograph was set at 10’ from the muzzle to the back.
Now here hoping they will release the 6.5” or 7.5” without a compensator in the near future.
