New Governor no need just had to have
Just purchased for fun. I have enough home defense so just wanting something to play with.
This monster is a blast to shoot. Toss some clays and knock em down.
Bore is oversized so I reloaded some .454 RN lead. Very accurate out to 15 yards.
The trigger is heavy but not unmanageable.

Congratulations. This is one revolver that could tempt me. As for the trigger pull you could consider a Wolf or Apex spring kit.

The trigger will get much better, this is a great gun, only those that own them know how much fun they are , I love doing hip shots and never missing. or big 45l holes in any thing, you know why dogs like to stick their head out a window while your driving, only bikers and gov. owners know why.just keep working that trigger

Congrats. I'm the same way. I should pick mine up tomorrow or Tuesday, if my ffl doesn't get it entered early enough for me to pickup.

All my Smith and Wessons have expreienced triggers so its been a long time since i had to break one in. how many rounds till it lightens up a bit? A Little scared to dry fire too much.
I also dont see any reason to shoot acp as i reload the 45 colt. plus moon clips are a pain in the butt in my opinion. Anybody have any experience with accuracy of acp out of this bad boy?

I have 3 SS S&W revolvers and just saw that "New for 2014", is a clear coated Scandium frame with SS cylinder Governor!! It is all shiny! Just might have to get one now!
Actually it is the first hand gun on the wish list, and is the first one I said I wanted to own. Practicality just got in the way is all. The Dog with his head out the window image got me Jonesing one again!

I totally agree with wing nut, unless you own one you just don't know how much fun the Governors are. I bought one as soon as they came out and 1K rounds later I like it more everyone I shoot it. So much so I just bought another. I really like the fact you can shoot 45 ACPs through it and I highly recommend buying a Moonclip tool to facilitate loading the clips. It's a truly great revolver that you'll enjoy.

well ****. looks like i will be getting the moonclip tool. i refuse to buy any factory ammo so i guess a set of 45acp dies, cases, and bullits are next on the list. powder and primers are not an issue. like most smith owners it never ends........ keeps me off the streets and out of the pool halls.....

Warthog do you load 45l it is dead accurate , keep it under 900fps and it is a winner, and you don't have to bother with m.oon clips

I’m very pleased with the one I have. Here on the farm it comes in handy, especially during the spring and summer months when the snakes are crawling about. I used to keep a shotgun handy but it’s a lot simpler to strap on the revolver loaded with shot when I venture into the woods and brush. I guess I will be buying another one because my wife wants to carry it too.

I see now they have it in stainless as well. I like stainless guns and have several. Anybody ever see how the frame looks with stainless over the composite materials they use for the frame, or do they just make the composite a silver color and call it stainless?
