Default TRR8!

I purchased a TRR8 last November and I finally got to the range with it last week. What it lacks in appearance it more than makes up for in every other area.

The trigger is smooth and the pull consistent, unlike my 627 PC that I sold recently. The 627 had a nice pull then midway through it required more pressure then lightened up.

When shooting I was hitting the target at 2:00. I changed the finger grooved Houges to the version without finger grooves and that fixed that.

I installed a SDM red fiber optic front sight. It is a little taller than the original sight so I adjusted the rear sight up and it now shoots dead on. I had to take a few passes with a file to fit the sight as it was a little wide.

At the range today I set up three 12" plates at 50, 60 and 70 feet. Now it's the most beautiful gun I have ever seen. I will be shooting this gun and my 1911 at every club match from now on.

Out of 300 rds I had six light primer strikes. I know this is/was an issue with older versions. I wasn't expecting it with a 2013 build. Can I remedy this or does it need to go back to S&W?
