629-1 6" Barrell Value
Good condition 95% with original grips. No box or papers. What is a fair price. I have the opportunity to buy one, just a little on the fence. Seller is asking $700.

Within the past 3 months I purchased a 629 no dash 6 in for $700.00 and a 629 Mountain Lion 4 in for $699.00. I think the price is right. Offer a little less and see what happens.

Offer a little less and risk losing the revolver and being told to go pound sand.

I would take it. On the big gun auction website, it would sell quickly with a BIN of $900 and I would not be surprised to see it come close to $1100 if it went to full auction. I'm not sure why, but lately pretty much ALL N-frames have been appreciating in price like crazy.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like $700 is a fair price. My S&W handgun addiction is tough to control!

It's got so bad I stop by my LGS a couple times a week to check his used guns, hoping he has something interesting. I figure if I can get a pretty decent deal why not. The older Smiths seem to continue to increase in value. If times ever get tough they seem pretty easy to sale.

IMO a 629-1 at $700 is a very fair price if in high condition
On the other hand the 6" and 8" 629-1 and dash 2 are the least desirable of the pre lock 629's IMO .
