My NYSP 65-3
Just picked this guy up.
I have the original pachmayr grips for it as well, but I prefer the walnut look.

I thought the State Police were using the prototype model 10 that transitioned into the M13. Regardless it is a sweet piece. You may have to spend the $50 and letter that baby.

I have its brother a 65-5 and had it bobbed and set up as DAO
Put these grips on

I've seen a model 10 and 520 marked as "NYSP".
Now I have this 65. 
Were there any other models the NYSP police used?

M28's and 681's.
Add me to the "I didn't know they used 65's" group. Maybe, non uniformed personnel?

Further research suggests these were issued to the detectives.

The 65 was issued to Bureau of Criminal Investigation investigators( detectives).

The 65-3 was brought on line about the same time the 681 was issued to the unformed guys (circa 1981). Some guys b!tched about the size of the 65-3 and were allowed to keep their issue Detective Specials.

Tempted to buy a 65. I have several 19s and 66s in 2.5 configuration and love them all. But I think of the 3" 65 at times. Am I fooling my self into thinking the 65 will do something better than the 19 or 66 2.5". I use my 66 2.5" for CC. Any advise will be appreciated.
